Location isn't their park

When I log a POTA Activator that is working from a location that is not their home area, why does the map show their home state instead of the state that the park is actually in? Shouldn’t WRL pull the location from their park information?

I had a similar situation last week when working a NY operator that was actually at his second home on Prince Edward Island in Canada and using the proper suffix for that location.

Do I have something configured incorrectly?

Hi Brian

No you didn’t configure anything incorrectly.

In my opinion, the position (QTH) is clear as soon as a park number (or summit number) is entered in the log, and should be interpreted correctly. If this is not the case, I would consider it as a bug (@K4AZE ).

Similarly, as soon as a guest country prefix (or, in the case of the agreement between Canada and the US, a guest country suffix) is specified in the call sign, the country is known in terms of location (QTH). And in certain countries, the guest country prefix (or guest country suffix) even reveals the region. Correctly identifying the country in which a contact is located is a must for me. Correctly identifying the region is more difficult, so in my opinion, it is a feature request. ( @K4AZE ).

@W7YBY Hey Brian,

If you are logging the activators park in the ‘Their Park’ field it shouldn’t be mapping it to their QTH it should be mapping it to the grid square and/or lat/lon of the park.

Here is a quick screen recording showing what i’m meaning

I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you are still having trouble.

Brad, I sent you another example via email today. The wrong state showed in the WRL log but the correct location did show on the map.
