LOTW Integration - Multiple Location Suggestion

I operate remotely and have several LOTW Station Locations set up. I currently use N3FJP, which allows me to select the station location when uploading contacts to LOTW. Is this being considered for the WRL LOTW integration?

@KQ4Y Hey Rick,

Yes this should be pulled/pushed based off your ā€˜Saved Locations’ in your WRL account.

Looking forward to this as well. N3FJP is my go to logger "ONLINE’ as it does real time uploading to QRZ, EQSL, LOTW simultaneous. Right now I log in WRL if online and love it on my Iphone offline in a pinch as it’s fast and will upload to WRL once connected, but then I have to export out of WRL and import into N3JFP. Look at that logger. It is exceptional but does have shortcomings that WRL already has superceeded like the Iphone and Ipad App. I think if you could replicate all it’s freatures for the basic app, you’d have one heck of a hard to beat logger. Field Day is coming up so a field day log specifics screen would be awesome as many use the various logs put out by N3FJP as they have them for nearly every contest out there, however you have to download every single one and use them individually based on how he wrote his app. WRL would easily have buttons to press for the various logs when creating (like a pull down menu) and you could have the contest logs all be in there (for only us paid members of course) as that is a huge incentive to becoming a member (assuming all the other base logging functions are implemented along with the big logging repositories QRZ, EQSL and LoTW. I like how when using N3FP it auto queries QRZ and pops up their photo. Very cool. 73’s.

@KB6ENY Hey Jay,

Yes for sure, we have a contests page on the web app that gives you access to most contests (I’m still in the process of adding new contests and per another users request several European contests as well. So the contest page will continue to grow in addition to a backend contest builder that we are about to start working on that will allow us to track scores and add custom contest exchange fields a little easier. That should be coming soon. Currently when you enroll in a contest it creates the contest log for you automatically and has the correct exchange fields and logbook settings needed for the Cabrillo log to be generated. Also, our desktop app will be launching very soon as well that hopefully you would be able to replace with N3FJP/N1MM. We are about to start testing the QRZ/LOTW upload functionality so that will be coming very soon as well in addition to our own internal call sign database that will have pretty much all the same data as QRZ. I hope this helps!

FANTASTIC…do you have EQSL on the list and CLUBLOG.ORG? Those are the ā€œBig 4ā€ I think most of us use…at least 1 if not all.
I use all LOTW, EQSL and LoTW…also if there is a way to press a button to "UPLOAD LOG TO POTTA.APP using an API that would be awesome to integrate so we wouldn’t have to export and then import…just one more nail in the coffin for other apps :wink:

Tnx,

We are going to be having a discussion on whether or not to add clublog and eqsl as options for phase two. As far as having a button to upload directly to POTA thats a really good idea. I’ll add that to our list of possible mini features and we’ll have a chat about that one as well. I don’t think it would be too difficult to execute on that but would be a HUGE bonus for users. Thanks for that suggestion!!!

My pleasure. No one does that, so that would be a first. You are in a position once the word gets out.
Maybe all current ā€œfoundersā€ get all included in the cost, and show the buttons all greyed out for free folks.
Make a useable logger but all the advanced features crippled…no uploading to the other logs, etc.

Good luck, can’t wait to see the new features.

Tnx,
