Mapping incorrectly

I logged 199 contacts today, and WRL located me in the wrong gridsquare. I went back and corrected the gridsquare on every contact, but the map shows my location completely wrong.

We’re working on this right away Andrew! Thank you so much for reporting this, it is such a HUGE help! We’ll have to get you a gift haha :pray:

@N0WRL
Absolutely! For more context, it consistently puts my grid in as EM12ot, which is in Dallas Texas. It seems to do this no mater what device I am on. For today’s activation (which ended a few minutes ago), the log once again put my grid in as EM12ot, but the map shows me in Oklahoma. I tried overriding it while logging, but it automatically changed back. For Saturday’s activations, the map shows me in Dallas, Texas, even though I have manually changed the logs to reflect the two parks I activated and their grid squares. Thanks for the quick responses from you and your team!

Oh jeez man! I know exactly what the underlying issue is - we’re currently working on a more robust way to manage locations (instead of just one default).

The “Find My Location” when logging maybe isn’t working correctly in the meantime…

Thanks so much for using our logbook, we will get this fixed as soon as possible!

Fantastic! Will my maps self-correct after the update if I manually change the gridsquare?

Once we fix this completely, they will!

We’re also going to add a QSO Manager in about a month that will allow you to do bulk updates.

Excellent! I love the QSO Manager idea. I’ve been in contact with WP3C quite a bit on this forum regarding bug reports and feature requests as I’ve begun to use this as my primary POTA logbook and I’m excited for some upcoming updates. Probably the most needed features would be the “Hold Frequency” button for faster logging, the POTA template for ready-to-upload ADIF files, and also the ability to log with the “Enter” key, no matter what field your focus is currently on. This last one would speed up my activations, as I am currently required to click the “Log Contact” button each time.

Quick Update: Just FYI, the “My Grid Location” field still defaults to EM12ot, but today’s logbook map now shows my location in Kentucky.

This issue just showed up. This contact is in Prince Edward Island, but, although it’s a Canadian station, it shows the state as Oklahoma. :laughing: It does this even though the “Edit” window shows Prince Edward Island.

Just checked after the new update release, and the map is still showing my location incorrectly. Sometimes it shows me in Kentucky, sometimes in Texas, but I’m supposed to be in Missouri.

I will notify the developer, thank you.

@N0APX

You faced this issue on new contacts made within the last hour or so?

No, new ones are correct. Old logs still have the issue.

Can you give us the correct contacts and locations? To fix it

It’s basically all of my contacts that were logged directly into WRL (not imported). Most of them have the correct grid squares in them, but the map view is incorrect. I’ve also been chatting with @N4ML about this, and I think he has a solution, so you can check with him as well.

I’m having the same issue. It put me in Chicago, where I was at at the time I signed up for WRL but not where my physical QTH location is, in Arizona. For me, I should be DM42ob for all of my contacts from 2013 and on, before 2013, yes, I was in Chicago then, but the southern suburbs.
