Merge and Import Into Existing Logbooks [IMPLEMENTED]

On .adi imports I’ve noticed that when it asks for a logbook name, even if you use the same name for the logbook, you end up with multiple logbooks for similar entries. I’ll use my FT8 imports as an example. I have four different “FT8 Logbook WSJT” entries for separate .adi files. Logically those entries should be in the same logbook, appending each time a file is imported using that logbook name. Also, a drop down list of existing logbooks to add to would make the import process easier and faster instead of having to remember the logbook name you want to append to.

Just thinking about where I’m seeing friction as I’m using the system.

Thanks,

I like this idea as well. I uploaded some logbooks and now I have a bunch of different logbooks with similar names. It would be very nice if we had the option to just combine them.

Thank you guys for this feedback  I totally agree!

We’re working on this feature, but it’s taking a bit of time to get it right. There are a few edge cases we need to handle, like how we display the import progress for a logbook when it is merged into another one, etc.

We also have a QSO Manager function coming which will allow you bulk edit and move QSOs!

Hi Alex :wave:t3:

Thanks for your suggestion. Soon it will be possible to merge the logs and there will also be the function to send the qso’s from WSJT directly to WRL. A drop down list sounds like a good idea, I will be notifying you so that it can be implemented soon. Thanks to your suggestions we can keep improving, thanks!

Hi @K9SAT ! We are now live with QSO Manager which includes:

  1. Import contacts into existing logbooks
  2. Merge logbooks
  3. Bulk update contacts

I hope this helps  Let us know if you have any other suggestions though and thanks for the follow up!
