I signed up with HRP during the beginning of the COVID.

Great program and as a bonus, the HRP Student Success Group on FB was a huge hit for me also!

I love the updated videos as it makes for a well rounded learning process for me. I see the text portion, I am immersed in the video/audio and retain more from both ways!!

Totally recommend hamstudy.org it’s free and easy to study with. You can also register for online exams straight from the site or the app!!!

No. For all 3 of my exams I watched Gary’s (W4EEY) you-tube videos and used the ARRL exam prep. Gary teaches his courses in the same manner as the ARRL site breaks up the questions. I would do the course questions after watching Gary’s videos until I consistently scored 100%. Then I would watch the next Gary video. Once I had completed all the videos I would move to hamstudy.org as I felt they did a better job of mixing questions and they also have a tracker which tells you how many times you have seen questions. Using this method I scored 100% on all my tests and it took me about 1.5 years to go through the curriculum, I was in no hurry and wanted to understand the material, not just memorize tests.

I used Ham Radio Prep to study for all exams including the Extra. The videos and practice exams did it for me. I passed all on the first try.

I’m using “Ham Radio Prep” to study for my General and hopefully my Amateur Extra Class License…

I am working with ham radio prep now to get my extra license. I’m averaging about 65% according to the app. I have more studying to go before getting to the point i feel comfortable passing the test.

Good luck!

I have ! I went through all my exams with Ham Radio Prep ! I got my Extra before the questions changed. I really enjoy app.

I used Ham Radio Prep to get ready for the Technician license and passed in 3-weeks. I used the course and practice test for General and found that I needed more exposure to questions and added Ham Study into the mix - it allows a random run through all questions. I found it to be a good supplement.

I did for my technician in April. Studying now for my general with it.

Yes. I used H R P for all 3 levels and passed on the first try.
BTW I took the tests on separate days.

I am and have used it. I just tested Tech and General at the same time. Did serious studies for 3 weeks and did very well on both.

I used the video instruction from Ham Radio Prep for the outstanding and clear explanations, and then drilled questions in Ham Study. As a result of both I ended up passing all three tests at once (34/35, 34/35, 49/50) after a week and a half of intense study.

I used it for all three of mine–Tech and General at the same time, and Extra about a month later. I did supplement with HamStudy.org practice tests, since HS randomizes the order of answer options, whereas HRP presents a question’s answers in the same order each time.

I started with them but was later advised to switch to Ham Study, so I did, recently took my Technicians Exam and passed 1st time with 100%!

I used it for technician and now general. I plan to use it for extra after. No supplementing. Followed their advice and passed the first time in about 2 weeks for technician. My brain could only absorb so much at one time lol. You can certainly go faster if your brain can handle the information.

I’m interested to know what’s different with Ham Study vs Ham Radio Prep. It’s the same questions.

Only thing I’ve noticed (and mentioned earlier and in survey) is that HS randomizes the answer order…I found I was starting to retain “it’s the second answer” on my Extra practice tests based on HRP always presenting a question’s answers in the same order. Still 100% satisfied with HRP, but I did feel like it was worthwhile to supplement with HS before my test day.
