QRZ Auto export

I have the QRZ integration set up but have not enabled auto export yet. How much of a delay is there when using auto export for the QSO to go to QRZ? I often fat finger the enter button during POTA and don’t want to deal with deleting it out of both places during the middle of a pileup. I have just been exporting to QRZ at the end to ensure accuracy.

@WY4TT Its pretty quick after logging the QSO into your WRL logbook. I’d say a couple seconds tops.

I’ve had to edit a few of the QRZ uploads since enabling auto upload. I’m learning to be more careful. :joy:

I need some feedback also as I am new to WRL, I don’t understand why QRZ logs my FT8 contacts immediately but I have to manually import them to from QRZ to WRL? I have the auto button on for QRZ, and, as a result my QRZ is always on point, but I’m not confident in WRL until I ask it to import. Am I missing something? Any feed back welcome! thanks!

@KC8WQR Hey Aaron

So I think i’m following here. Your saying when you log an FT8 contact it gets exported to QRZ immediately but you are having to manually add them to your WRL logbook?

If thats the case then it sounds like you aren’t using the WRL Cat control app to stream your FT8 contacts from WSJTX/JTDX to your WRL Logbook.

What should happen (if you have everything setup properly since you have a WRL membership and a QRZ subscription) is you’ll log a contact in WSJTX or JTDX and then it gets sent to your WRL logbook (technically if you’ve followed the WSJTX integration guide WSTJX sends it to GridTracker then GridTracker sends it to your WRL logbook), then since you have the QRZ export integration enabled and set to auto export it will send it to QRZ.

If I’m understanding correctly it just sounds like you aren’t using the UDP streaming option in the WRL Cat Control app.

Here is a very detailed setup guide: WSJT-X Integration Setup - World Radio League

I HIGHLY suggest following the guide and setting everything up exactly per the instructions.

Let me know if you have any questions or if i’m not understanding.

Thanks for responding. The link answered a lot of questions. I followed every step and I just have a few more questions. Everything is working great, but I am getting some duplicates in QRZ. I went back into Grid Tracker and unchecked logging to QRZ. Was that the right thing to do? So, when I complete an FT8, I type in call sign to WRL, etc, log it. When I verify it through QRZ later, I will see KC8WQR etc, etc followed by the same exact entry. Thanks for your patience, I’m just trying to make sure I understand everything correctly. WRL is the only logging program I’ll use and I’m still figuring out what is normal.

@KC8WQR You should not have to manually type in the callsign into WRL at all if you have everything setup properly, thats most likely why you are getting duplicates in QRZ.

You can leave the QRZ logging option checked inside of gridtracker that shouldn’t be a problem.

Here is a screen recording showing how it should all work. Sorry its early here so the audio isn’t great.

Go back to the documentation and make sure you have followed all of the steps very carefully.
