Uploading Contacts

Is there a way to upload all my past contact or do we just have to put them in one at a time?

Hello @W5NPO & @W4JCW

I think it is on the roadmap to be able to upload the previous qso’s. Better to wait for @N0WRL to answer them

Alfredo is right here guys!

We are working on this one, but it is taking some time because 1) we have to build out our servers a bit more to handle the extra load when people upload large volumes and 2) We need to run proper checks for data format for integrity.

I estimate we are about 1.5 months out from import, but we will still have a lot of other features that come out between now and when this is available.

But time will fly by and we’ll have it sooner than it seems! Maybe just in time for Christmas :christmas_tree:

@W5NPO @W4JCW @WP3C thank you for the feedback and helping build the product roadmap

Yes, I imagine a lot of data management work to eliminate duplicates. I also assume there will be QSO confirmation. I don’t know if you plan to integrate with other services, but QRZ and LoTW would be useful. Right now I upload my logs to QRZ and use their LoTW integration.

Gregg thanks for the comment, that is really clarifying - you hit the nail on the head! There are three major pieces we are working on before we can comfortably start importing contacts:
1. QSO Confirmation - this has to be set up so that upon import, confirmations start getting accepted. It would be a pain to have to go back and reprocess the data
2. De-duplication - has to be built before import, otherwise people will end up with a lot of manual cleanup if they import the same contacts multiple tiems
3. Scalability - we have some members who want to upload tens of thousands of contacts. We need to make sure our servers are good to go and our cloud costs don’t get out of control!

Update on the ADIF Import functionality - this is now moving into our Testing process - we expect this to be live by the end of December!
