W2RRC 4th Annual Winter Field Day & POTA – January 24–25, 2026 (WRL Logging)

W2RRC, White River Radio & Communications, Group is excited to announce our upcoming 4th Annual Winter Field Day (WFD) & Parks on the Air (POTA) event, being held on Saturday & Sunday, January 24–25, 2026, at Jamestown Wildlife Management Area (near Batesville, Arkansas). We welcome everyone to join us for a weekend of radio fun in the great outdoors!

  • :round_pushpin: Location: Jamestown Wildlife Management Area (WMA) – turn at 1650 Jamestown Loop, Batesville, AR 72501, then go 3 miles down the gravel road.

  • :ten_o_clock: Time: January 24–25, 2026 (Saturday 10:00 AM – Sunday 3:59 PM). (We’ll be there early Saturday for setup and will keep the radios running through the night until wrap-up Sunday.)

  • :heavy_dollar_sign: Cost: Free and open to the public.

  • :pot_of_food: Refreshments: Free chili on Saturday (while it lasts) and free breakfast Sunday morning for attendees. (Feel free to bring your own favorite snacks and drinks to stay warm and energized.)

This event is part of the national Winter Field Day, a 24-hour on-air operating event that tests our emergency preparedness in winter conditions – combined with a Parks on the Air activation from a beautiful outdoor location.

We’ll be operating multiple radio stations and using the World Radio League (WRL) system for logging contacts, making QSOs across the country and worldwide.

Visitors are welcome – whether you’re a newly licensed ham, a seasoned operator, or just curious about amateur radio, we invite you to stop by, ask questions, and even get on the air with us under supervision. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn, have fun, and enjoy the camaraderie of our ham radio community.

We hope to see you there – so come on out, play radio, and have a great time with us at Winter Field Day! :tada::radio:
