What about a North America or Western Hemisphere button

I love getting DX when I can but my reality is that I can not very often unless I am operating portable.

Where I live combined with my antenna setup limits my DX opportunities from my QTH. When I am hunting POTA my spotting tab is overrun with all the stations I can not hear.

Would it be worth while to have a button like the DX Only button but to filter spots for my hemisphere or continent only? I know I would find it useful.

If it were tied to our location it could be useful to our European friends as well if they wanted to only see spots in their neck of the woods.

Thanks,

Barry

@N2FSM Hey Barry,

This exists already on the web and desktop app. We can add this into the mobile app though.

I am actually asking for the opposite of the DX button.

I want a ZERO DX button, North America only no DX shown.

So that all I see are US - Canada - Central America & Caribbean islands, which is about all I can hear from my home station.

@N2FSM Hey Barry,

Sorry I misunderstood. Now that I understand, yes you can do that. This is how I run mine actually:

Wow, thank you for the personalized video instructions.

I will be trying this in a minute. Awesome, you guys have built a great tool.

I just need to learn how to use its features.

Thanks again,

@K4AZE Hey Brad,

This works but I find it a bit cumbersome. Is there a way to setup and save a filter profile?

When I switch to looking for DX stations, then want to go back to filtering or only including the western hemisphere choices I have to start over & reselect all these different entities. and I have a rather long list to click through.

See screen grab below:

Thanks,

@N2FSM Hey Barry,

So it actually should retain those filter settings BUT what i’ve noticed is then when you toggle “DX Only”, its pulling ONLY DX spots from what is being filtered.

I think what should happen in this case is that when a user clicks the “DX Only” toggle, it looks at the users location and then basically overrides the ‘location’ filter and shows only DX callsigns that are spotted. Then when untoggled it just goes back to what the filters are set to.

Happy to add this as a feature request.

@K4AZE Yeah I noticed the same, so I had to turn off the filtering & toggle DX Only. Then re-enter everything for my preferred filtering. Fixing the toggle would be good but I could also see a use case for having multiple personalized filter presets if that would be possible.

Thanks,

Barry
