I use win4Yaesu for my 991a and i would love to have the best logger WRL accessible within the software
@AC1TZ Hey Tom!
Welcome! I’m not extremely familiar with win4yaesu but if it has the ability to use it with hamlib instead of a direction com port connection I’m sure its possible to use it in conjunction with our beta cat control app. I’ll do some digging into win4yaesu and see if we can make it work.
An initial google search i found this: Third Party Hardware and Software Integration - Win4YaesuSuite for the FTDX and FT-991 Radios
which may come in handy

Win4Yaesu and Win4Icom are cat control software for the radios. They connect directly with the radio. What we would need for WRL cat control to do is let us pick the com port. That way we could assign it to one of the auxilary ports in Win4Yaesu. As it is right now WRL Cat control just selects the ports that Win4yaesu uses, and does not give us an option to tell it another port to use.
@KE6GAE Interesting. I’ll reach out to the team and see if there is something we can work up. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to use a com port emulator like com0com or something similar to emulate the com port of the radio then set WRL cat control to use that emulated com port. I think at that point it would work as expected but I’ll still reach out to the team and get their thoughts as well.

Brad thank you for the reply. Yes if we can set a com port thru com0com that we can select with WRL than it should work thru win4yaesu

@KE6GAE Ok perfect, that might be a temporary solution until the team and I can have a discussion about how we can handle this going forward!
