Can you give me any hint on how to avoid this issue when I do my next POTA activation
I know I saved them when I was offline. I turned on my tablet and it tried to sync when it connected automatically to my wifi and then
just started spinning.
Is there a way to export the data BEFORE I leave the park (while do not have internet connection
@KF0RQK So we are going to be finishing some changes to the mobile app to make it completely “offline first” once we pushes this major database upgrade change live in the next week or so. That will fix this permanently, however with that said you can do two things. The first is after you’ve logged all your contacts, inside your logbook goto the gear icon at the top right and then export the ADIF (gear icon → export US-XXXX.ADIF) and then save it to your phone/tablet/etc. Then you should close the app completely and then once you get back home to a stable internet connection reopen the app and everything should auto sync properly. If for some reason (until we’ve pushed the offline first changes) it doesn’t auto sync you’ve got your backup ADIF you can use to upload to POTA.
Our final fix for the the WRL Mobile App offline and spotty internet connection logging went live today!
From now on, your mobile app contacts will ALWAYS be saved to the offline database first, then synced the the cloud when you have an internet connection. There is also a User Interface so you can see contacts that are offline and pending sync to the cloud.
Whether you have internet, or are in a spotty connection, or you are completely offline, the app will now work reliably. Plus we’re the only app that syncs everything to your cloud account from the mobile app!
Be sure to update the latest version, and I hope you can give the mobile app another shot
Just a suggestion, James. Not everyone knows tech abreviations so I’d suggest writing out User Interface in the future for the benefit of those that are less techie. It might avoid an additional reply asking “what’s that mean?”.
