I use the WRL iPad app for all my logging. I use my phone hotspot when I have cell coverage for internet access. Sometimes I don’t have cell coverage or internet access, so I’m completely offline. When it comes to entering the other contact’s POTA/SOTA, I can enter a park/summit ID, but it won’t save to the logbook. Everything else saves, just not any park or summit ID. If I try to edit the entry to add the ID after saving the contact it won’t allow me to save it if I’m offline.
Am I missing something? If not, can this functionality be added. Or do I need to just plan on paper logging when I’m offline?
I tried again and the park ID doesn’t save. I even updated the app this morning before I posted the original message. I also tried adding it after saving the contact and it won’t let me save a park ID.
I made a quick screen recording using loom which allows me to just drop you a URL that you can click on and see the video. So your saying that when you try and add a park to the contact your making it just isn’t saving?
Can you do a quick screen recording and shoot it over to us so we can take a look? it doesn’t have to be a loom, you can just simply record your screen and upload it to google drive, or whatever is easier for you.
I had updated my app and it was acting glitchy so I un and reinstalled it. Now it has no problem with POTA/SOTA lookups when I’m typing them in. However, I did notice something else. I created a POTA/SOTA Activator template and while testing the POTA and SOTA lookups I saved one with a park and the other with a summit. The log treats the summit like a park.
Glad to hear the main issue is resolved. So i think the reason its treating the summit like a park is due to the template. Currently the custom templates aren’t integrated into the mobile app yet. So I’m pretty sure thats why thats happening but i’ll talk to the team to confirm.
