I have the LDG 43 footer. I want to run some wire from the top to operate lower hf bands - any thoughts what a practical length to cover say 160 to 6M

Hi Alan,

Only 43 feet high the most it can resonate would be up to 40M, but if you put enough radials on the ground or elevated radials it could resonate at 80M.

I cut a 88ft length of wire. Joined to the top making it a Marconi. I can resonanate all bands including 6m. 1 use the coax feed via 43:1 to the rig it’s 100ft long. You don’t need to play around with radials it’s not just worth the effort .
