Hi Russ
I have had several verticals but have not had that one, I see it is 4 band, seems good for the price. Although there are other verticals that cover more bands.
Hello, That is the exact setup I have just purchased. It is being mounted onto a 25ft mast. I will keep this thread updatedas I go forward withthis setup. K4SPF
I have a 40 foot spider beam I was planning on mounting it on . Right now I have a end fed half wave on 2 meter . I’m still working on my technician license hopefully first week of September I’ll pass it.
Hello, (late post)
I have this antenna installed on top of my garage, top of the antenna is about 40’. Connected to my G90 and the XPA-125 amplifier. When first tuning, with the base of the antenna about 8’ above the ground I had it dialed in on the four bands. After mounting it did get out of tune on the 40 meter band and not so much on the other three. Due to the elevation difference. It works well, maybe better than my End Feed. Will be tuning at some point. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it . How far have you been able to get a signal out.
Around 6000 miles, I think it was Krasnodar. Russia. Never been able to go beyond that in any direction from central New York. Once with an 49:1 endfeed I was about to reach 8000 miles. But never again. Maybe if I raise the VG4 another 15-20 feet. That would take some work on my end. Good luck, 10 meters is open this time of the year.
Thanks,
Bob K.
Thanks Bob
That’s much better than I expected
Hello, I just put this antenna up about 3m. I watched a bunch of videos before buying. I will let you know that “Set up” was so easy, didn’t really even look at directions after watching a couple of videos. After putting it up my first contact with it was on 10m in New Hampshire from Tucson, Az. Now granted, this was during the AARL 10m Contest. Ended the day with only 27 contacts but had other work to do. Australia, Japan, and New Zealand came in great, but due to the contest wasn’t able to get a contact in.
If you get this antenna “Tune” 10m first then continue up the mast. Tuning 10m will affect all other frequencys but when tuning the others it won’t affect 10m.
Hope you find this info helpful.
Have a great day and 73’s. Richard KO4GGC
PS. I had this mounted on the toung of my mobile home while waiting for the concrete to dry, less than 1 foot off the ground and was talking to South Carolina with it.
