The day before my Subscription expired, I was using the app in offline mode. I logged 6 contacts, and closed the app.
I connected my computer to the internet and the app had signed me out . I attempted to log back in and all of my logbooks were gone, and my subscription was listed as ‘free’.
I payed my subscription bill later and logged into the app to sync my new contacts only to find they were gone.
Is there some way to access cached contacts locally so this would not happen again?
Yes, but they do not display. The processes looked like they were trying to connect to the online servers, but would fail and recreate the connection process.
This is an example of running processes. This is a screen capture of Chrome.
I would see 8+ processes like this, and then it would stop responding.
I would guess that the application is attempting to contact the servers, but can’t authenticate, and restart the process to connect again. Only conjecture, because I can’t duplicate the issue anymore.
@KF6EFG Everything (across the board; logging, subs, etc) are in UTC time. The logs aren’t subscription dependent, meaning even if you were on a free account the logs should have still been there. There is a feature of the desktop app though that if you are offline and create a logbook/log qso’s they are saved on the device until an internet connection is found and then the logs sync to the web, however if you logout it could clear those logs/qso’s and if they aren’t synced that could pose an issue. There should be logic in place to prevent them from being deleted though, thats what the team is looking at.
I suspect what happened wasn’t related to the subscription expiring but more likely the logout caused the locally stored logs/qso’s to disappear.
