Bulk Editing QSOs

Have you ever made a bunch of QSOs and realized you had the wrong frequency set? Or maybe you’re like me and had to manually change your FT4 contacts to reflect being FT4 instead of MFSK

That brings me to my feature request for a way to bulk edit QSOs. Not every field needs a bulk edit option, but it would be nice to bulk edit certain fields like Frequency, Mode, and Notes.

This would be a major addition to the logging software! Countless times have I accidentally had my frequency set in kHz or mode set improperly. Awesome idea!

Concur wholeheartedly.
In the past I managed to do a whole POTA activation without a frequency in the log.
Today I managed not to have my power filled in.

I didn’t even think about these fields! Power is a great one to have, but also Radio & Antenna so you can keep track of those things!

@W2DIY @N5EGG @KD3AAC This actually already exists in the QSO manager. Goto ‘Log Contacts’ → ‘QSO Manager’. There you can select multiple contacts and click the ‘Bulk Edit Details’ button. I hope this helps.

Thanks so much, I had no idea this feature existed!

Passing along this screenshot, does this imply I’ll be changing ALL these fields? Or does it imply the power field is the only one that will be changed? It a little rewrite to the tip at the top “highlighted fields below will be changed” or something like that would encourage users to be more confident with this feature.

I use this feature all the time at the end of the day and only select that days QSO’s. I then ensure that my location, radio, antenna, mode and power all are set to what I was using (All FT8 and the power used, currently). That way I ensure that my log is consistent and my export to other things (QRZ) are correct.
You only have to modify the items that you want to be bulk changed, the other data shown, if it does not have data in the new field will not be updated.
Hope that helps

@N5EGG Hey Julian,

It should only bulk update based on if you put something in the field. Ie in the case of the screenshot you shared it would only update the qso’s you’ve selected with power = 10.

Hope this helps

I had no idea this was in the QSO manager!

If I can modify my original feature request then (or if this is already there and I am just missing it), would it be possible to get a bulk editor (or the QSO Manager) on the mobile app?

@W2DIY potentially. I think the initial plan was for the mobile apps to be striped down, more geared towards pota/sota/wwff/etc. All the functionality of the web app will be in the desktop app (that will work on win/mac/linux/and dont quote me but tablets as well). I’ll still talk to the team about it though.
