CAT Control connection succeeds, but logbook not updating

Hi, I set up CAT control for my Yaesu FTDX10 and it succeeds. I see both VFOs and the S-meter on the CAT window. However, when I go to my logbook, I don’t see the frequency, band, mode etc being automatically filled in. What am I doing wrong? Just using sideband, no WSJT-X/FT8.

Separately, will CAT control provide a radio selection for the logbook? I have an Icom-9700 as well, and would like the logbook to allow me to select the radio I’m operating on if both are powered on.

@K7VKT The frequency should be shown in your logbook, you also should be able to type in a frequency in the frequency box and it change on the radio. The mode and band are set based on the frequency automatically. One thing to keep in mind is the cat control app is still VERY beta (and will most likely be going away once we release the desktop app as the desktop app will have cat control built in natively and will give us A LOT more control over rig control by doing it properly vs trying to do it via a web application).

Can you expand on what you mean by “will cat control provide a radio selection for the logbook”? Re-reading your message I think you are asking if you change the radio selection of your logbook it would change the cat control? If thats correct, then no, at least not currently. This is something we might could be able to do in the desktop app as we could have another option in the radio setup inside the logbook where you could add your com port and baud rate and tie that to the radio settings and when you select a different radio in the logbook it could auto change the cat control to pull/connect to that radio/com port.

I hope i’m following

Thanks Brad. I am able to get the CAT control working in my logbook now with my Yaesu FTDX10. Restarting the browser and the WRL Cat Control application helped.

Yes, I think you understood correctly. Log4OM 2 has a rig selection option if you’re using more than one radio over CAT. So if I’m operating on VHF/UHF, I can change the radio selection button in Log4OM and it will connect to the other radio over CAT and display the frequency/mode/band settings etc.

I love the WRL user interface. It’s super intuitive and is coming along well. Congratulations on the project!

@K7VKT perfect! Got it, I understand now. Yeah I’m sure we can do something like that with the desktop app for sure. I’ll bring it up to the team.
