I’m not sure if this is a bug or working as intended, but it appears the daily streaks are calculated from when a contact is actually logged on the website and not when the contact was made. I was getting close to a 50 day streak, but then lost it during the Verizon outage last week. I made a contact before the UTC day was over, but it did not actually upload until I had internet later that evening (which was after the UTC day.)
I would have thought that the calculation would be made from the actual logged contact date/time and not from the time the WRL website received the contact. What are your thoughts on this? Is this just working as intended and I got unlucky with the loss of internet? This seems unfortunate for those who may be operating portably where there is no internet access.
@KV4CW So i’ve talked to the team and the way it is currently setup to work is we consider both contact time and upload time. If the contact is not uploaded/added within same date as contact time, then its not considered valid entry for the streak as of now. In that case, at system level, it assumes the user has missed the 24hr window.
This has sparked a conversation that we will be having next week because we’ll need to think of some exceptions especially related to offline mobile logs.
It turns out I legitimately ruined my streak on Sat on anyway. oops. But still, I’m glad it’s being looked at (and at least I know that if this happens in the future, i need to hurry and find internet access before UTC day is over!)
