The app shows I’m connected to the 891 but the frequency field is blank. Any ideas?
@KK4JAB Hey Josh,
You’ll probably need to make sure you radio settings are set correctly first. Set your radio settings to the following:
-
Menu 05-06 (CAT Rate): Set to 4800 baud (or match your software’s baud rate).
-
Menu 05-07 (CAT RTS): Set to DISABLE
-
Menu 08-01 (DATA MODE): Set to OTHERS (not PSK) to enable full digital mode configuration.
-
Menu 08-10 (PTT SELECT): Set to CAT
-
Menu 08-11 (DATA OUT LEVEL): Adjust to 50 (default) or optimize for your interface.
-
Menu 08-12 (DATA BFO): Set to USB for most digital modes like FT8 and PSK.
-
Function-1 (WIDTH): Ensure the bandwidth is set to 3000 Hz
That list came from google so it may not be exactly 100% correct.
If your 891 opens two com ports (my 991a, dx10 do) use the enhanced com port. You can check this by opening device manager and going to the ‘PORTS (COM & LPT)’ section and seeing if you see the following:
If so, make sure when you are connecting your radio to the desktop app or the WRL integrations app you select the ‘enhanced’ com port. set your baud rate to 4800 and select your radio from the radio drop down and you should be good to go.
And one other tip: make sure you don’t have another CAT control app open and trying to talk to your radio.
