Alfredo…Thanks for the kind words, I started in 1957 and over the years migrated to CW as the most reliable, low bandwidth standard mode to use. I opted for CW and built all my QRP gear…Now have the QRP Labs QCX Plus (7w) into the QRP amp for a big 30w out! on 40m!!.. My big gear is the FTdx10 and old “boat anchor amp” … Of course I use a CW Keyboard (K44)for QRS and QRQ chats!..My favorite bands are 40m and 30m and I’m n most mornings after 8-9AM on low end of 40m or on 30m. Hope to hear you…73’ Dave

I am most interested in learning CW. I read your bio, so I may be emailing you for questions, if that’s alright.

Great Dane and thanks for the note I got it on my iPhone via gmail… always nice to have an interested op for CW… only way to go for me, low cost alternatives, etc with max readability, even at 40wpm! Head copy 73s Dave k3dgr

Hi

Thank you and your years in this excellent hobbie are impressive. I started when I was 15 in 1995 and I fell in love with the CW. Although I do all the ways since the most I do are contests. I use the Flex radios since most of the year I am in Texas and with that radio I do remote with my station in PR. By the way, I just arrived to PR today because I will be working on a new tower that I am going to install. Well, here anytime you need and I also hope to hear you in any band. 73 :slightly_smiling_face:

Carlton, Thanks for the email, …a friend of mine Lou, WB3AAI is in central FL so if you look him up he might be able to help you, or a local radio club in your area…FL is rough for me to get into from PA on skip on 40m. I only do CW!, QRS & QRQ, …since '57. You can check my bio… 73’s Dave, k3dgr

Hi Dave I’m Dave from NW Pa up near Erie. I am actually in Crawford County about 35 mi south of Erie in Meadville.

I’m totally new to this HAM world. I have yet to even take the test or purchase a radio. It’s all just so very, very confusing to me with all the different features, bands/meters, VHF vs UHF vs DMR, along with all the terminology and acronyms.

I have been studying off and on but I’d still like to talk to someone about the test itself before I actually take it.

Any and all help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thank you in advanced.

Best regards,

Sgt Dave Randazzo (ret)

This hobby is just great I got my present (name in inits) call in 2018 and have over 5.5k qsos logged all are CW!! I do’t own a mike!.. but I do have a “Baofeng” HT duo-bander for both VHF and UHF frequency bands for accessing th elocal reapeaters so that’s a good idea to start with …but …only a stepping stone in yoru path to this great hobby,…
