I would like to submit a feature request related to POTA references and their practical use inside the logbook.
When logging a QSO, it is possible to enter the POTA reference of the contact. It would be extremely useful to build a system around this information that allows statistical and historical use of the worked parks. For example:
seeing whether a specific POTA park has already been worked
how many times it has been worked
which operator (OM) was contacted from that park
possibly filtering or summarizing QSOs by POTA reference
This kind of functionality would give real value and meaning to recording the POTA reference during logging, beyond simply storing it as a static field.
Along the same lines, to further enhance this feature, it would be very helpful if the POTA reference were displayed in the “QSL card” or QSO card automatically generated by WRL, together with the core QSO details (date, band, mode, callsigns, etc.). This would better reflect the nature of the contact and make the generated card more informative and complete.
I’m sure that, starting from this idea, many other great and creative enhancements could naturally follow.
Thank you again for the great work on World Radio League. The platform is clearly evolving in a very solid direction, and it already offers a modern and enjoyable logging experience.
Thank you very much for your time and attention.
@IT9KBT Currently you can goto the activities page and view most of this information. However keep in mind it is only based on activations from within WRL, not activity wide (ie all the data from the pota site + WRL activations).
With that said, we are working on some additional upgrades that will show users missing parks, states, dx entities etc for users that are hunting WAS, etc etc etc.
As far as the current digital “QSL Card” we will be adding the park information on there for pota hunts/activations as well as providing users a way to not only send the digital qsl card but being able to print and send a physical qsl card from that information.
There are a lot of these things in the works and on the road map.
