Problem with SOTA S2S entry on iPhone mobile app (Bug reported on web app, need status update)

I submitted a bug report in early March`about not being able to add a Summit 2 Summit (S2S) entry to a QSO during a SOTA activation on the iPhone mobile app. When the WRL team got back to me, I think they were able to re-create the problem, verifying it’s a legitimate bug, not user error.

I’m now trying to get a status update, but it’s not clear to me how to track the status of this bug.

How do I track bug status?

What is the status of this bug?

Thanks and 73,

@AF7JT Hey Jim,

Yes I would have sent a reply in the bug report ticket you submitted letting you know this was resolved. I would make sure you have the latest mobile app update downloaded (and or uninstall the app and then re-install it from the app store to be sure).

Here is a screenshot I just took after creating a ‘SOTA Activation’ logbook that shows the ‘Summit to Summit’ button showing on mobile.

Now with al that said, there is another bug that the team will be pushing a fix for soon where if you create a ‘SOTA Activation’ logbook on web its not setting the ‘SOTA Activator Template’ properly and you just need to click the template name inside the logbook and update it to the ‘SOTA Activator’ template.

I hope this helps

Hi Brad,
Thanks so much for WRL working on this. It works for me now. That’s GREAT!
You folks really hustle!

I’m off to a couple of SOTA activations tomorrow, will be using WRL to log the action!

Hi Brad,

I wanted to give you feedback after activating two SOTA summits this last weekend, both with Summit 2 Summit QSO.

  • I was able to enter “their summits” on the mobile app.

*HOWEVER, I’m just now getting to looking at my logbooks, both on the mobile app, and on the desktop website. Unfortunately, I do not see “their summits” included in the QSO entries.
I should have also written them down, as this was a test. Unfortunately, I did not. I think the S2S bonuses have been lost.

I did also notice that the two logbooks created last weekend, shown on the desktop website, used the “Default WRL” template. It did not use the SOTA activator template, which I entered into the mobile app.

I’m not sure if this was user error, or a bug. Should I submit a formal bug report?

@AF7JT Hey James,

No, we are actually aware of this and are actively looking into it. I’ll reach back out here after we’ve pushed a fix.

@AF7JT Hey James,

Can you provide the sota reference numbers and callsigns of some of these contacts that should have the S2S showing?

Hi Brad,
Thanks for digging into this!

From last Saturday…
SOTA reference: W7O/NC-006
callsign: W7MTB
callsign: KK7ULL
(there might be more, I don’t remember…)

SOTA reference: W7O/NC-032
callsign: WU7H
callsign: WW7D

(there might be more, I don’t remember…)

Older Activations…
SOTA reference: W7O/WV-099
callsign: K7ATN

SOTA reference: W7O/NC-031
callsign: KC7EPG
callsign: KK7ULL
callsign: KK7UKE
callsign: KC8YEK

Interestingly, my logbooks older than the above DO have the S2S instances. I think I entered them into the WRL log via the desktop website…

Thanks again, hope this helps in the deBug…

@AF7JT Hey James thanks for this! I’ve added this data/info to your ticket as well as passed it directly to the team to take a look at. We’ll get it figured out.
