QTH contest mismatch

Hello! First time ever doing a contest and I am receiving this error when I try to submit my logs. Does anyone know how to fix this?

**ERROR–>**Following QSO errors were found:

  • Sent qth (W6SR) for 62 of 62 QSOs doesn’t match qth associated with location (KY) selected on this web form.

  • QSO lines format error based on first QSO: qth

I made sure that my grid square info is correct and is entered properly. I tried looking through groups.io posts as well as googling questions about this but I can’t seem to find any info. I know it is only a few qso’s but I’d still like to find a way to submit them if anyone has an answer.

Thanks in advance, Paul KZ4ML

by the way W6SR is my first contact in the log.

Similar issue here:

**ERROR–>**Following QSO errors were found:

  • Number of fields in each QSO line fewer than minimum expected(11)

QSO: freq mode yyyy-mm-dd hhmm call sent rst sent qth sent call copied rst copied qth/serial copied
    QSO: 28303 PH 2025-12-13 0023 W7YBY 59 KE2DX 59 NY

Similar issue here. Looks like the cabrillo file isn’t formatted in a way that the ARRL is expecting it to be formatted for upload :frowning:

Me too very annoying

I solved my issue, I did not have KY in the “my exchange field”. I first changed it to 59 KY and i received a different error telling me 59 was invalid. so after changing it to KY only my log successfully uploaded. I hope this helps some others here figure it out.

Same here ..

    copied exchange (rst) is missing
    copied exchange (qthserial) is missing

So, what would I do to make this work? Thanks!

QSO: 28689 PH 2025-12-13 1332 KQ4Y 59 59 NY OL8W 59 59 103

@KQ4Y @KN6TPT @W7YBY @KZ4ML @KR4EJY @KR4CWB You have to make sure you have your exchange added to the ‘My Exchange’ field under the ‘log contact’ button inside your contest logbook.

This field will be there for every contest and will need to be added before exporting your Cabrillo

I did that. My exchange for this contact was 59 NY. But the ARRL submit system didn’t like the output:

QSO: 28689 PH 2025-12-13 1332 KQ4Y 59 59 NY OL8W 59 59 103

I just went in a did a manual edit of the file.. then it accepted it.. below is my example

QSO: 28530 PH 2025-12-13 0001 KN6TPT 59 CA JA8COE 59 003
QSO: 28507 PH 2025-12-13 0003 KN6TPT 59 CA K4WI 59 AL

Cool - I’ll do some editing. The contesting area is one where WRL needs some further work. Thanks!

you only put NY in the exchange, the 59 goes in the RST field.

Aside from not having my state inputted which is my fault, I didn’t have any other issues. Where else do you see opportunities?

Thanks!

@KN6TPT - Thanks for sharing the manual edit solution. I had to do the same thing, then my log file was accepted.

It’s just that serious contesters (and I’m usually not one) would want to stick with N1MM or N3FJP, and the other contest programs, for the additional features they include, such as call histories, sending and receiving CW, voice keyers, and similar features.

I tried to use WRL for the contest, but it lasted only 5 QSOs before I went back to N1MM. 1880 QSOs and 600,000 points, approximately. I hope to see you all at the RAC contest this week. The Croatian DX contest is the same weekend as well.

Also, the biggest thing I like with N1MM (N3FJP does this as well), is the broadcasting of data to the Online Contest Scoreboard to see how you are doing against most of the others in the contest, the showing of multipliers required, integration with DX Clusters that are colour coded to see where you need multipliers and the fact that your actual score is tracked. WRL didn’t track your real score with the ARRL 10m contest.
