I signed up but it starts at 14 wpm. i want to learn by instant recognition. Which is 30 wpm.

I am very sure nearly no one that is experienced at CW now started even close to 30 WPM.

the reason I want 30wpm is so that I can not hear dits and dahs, only the sound. 30 wpm is recommended for instant character recognition style.

By far, the best thing I have found is the Long Island CW Club. It is a worldwide group that has fine tuned helping hams learn CW. (Literally the first class you attend helps show you how to setup a key lol) It can be used alongside things like Andy’s Morse Mastery. The club is very active and is not JUST cw stuff either. Seriously one of the best communities in ham radio.

Also, check out the Morse Expert app. It is capable of teaching you the characters at higher WPM in a fun way, but I urge you to still check out LICW to put it all together better.

I’ve already had feedback that Morse Mastery users are learning characters by the sound, instead of dits and dahs, even around 14 WPM! I’ve seen folks talking about learning at 30, but that’s very challenging. I’ve made hundreds of CW contacts and most or ALL of them were below 30 WPM. Let me know if I can be of any service to you as you start your AMAZING journey into CW!!!

Try LICW. They do on line zoom classes. I never used them because of time zone differences. Some classes just didn’t fit into my schedule. There are some apps for phone. I am still learning myself and getting better very very very very Sllooooooowwwwly. It’s a journey. I also found SKCC useful. You can coordinate some CW QSO so you are not just sitting around hoping someone answers back. Best tip… learn the letter CQ, your call Sign, numbers 5 and 9, letters B and K… the. Just get on the air. It forces your brain to just work and helps create association… I guess??? It just helps a lot for me for sure. I miss a lot but everything I do have a CW QSO I get better compared to just Messi g around with apps or lessons. 73

To JUST START is the best advice I can give. Start hunting POTA first. It has the guardrails of a standardized exchange, while still forcing you out of your comfort zone! Use World Radio League to filter out CW spots only from the POTA network and just start down through hunting them. It’s really fun! You’ll start to pick things up faster than you think. It’s easy to memorize your callsign to get started. Then you can just send 5NN and your state abbreviation at the beginning.
