Restricting power output for Field Day, 13 Colonies and other Contesting

We should consider limiting the power output for ALL Contesting to 100 Watts. It is ridiculous that the way you win is to be the richest so you simply buy the most expensive amplifier you can and drown out every other HAM station that cannot afford to purchase expensive amplifiers. If those of you with loads of money and amplifiers that cost thousands want to have a contest amongst yourselves with 1500 watts of output, organize your own contest. Thanks for considering

Hi Chip

Each contest has its own rules and categories. Most contests have QRP, Low Power and High Power categories. If you are only at 100 watts you will be in the Low Power category and will not compete with the QRP and High Power. There is also a Single Operator category and there is a Multi Operator category. 73’

Hi Chip

Don’t worry, I work a lot contest and I love the Low Power category. By the way, I sold even the amps and I only operate with 100 watts. If you have any questions or doubts, we are here to help you
