Ok my question is that i was looking for 13 colonies and there was an active spot that was only 3-5 minutes old. The page refreshed and the spot disappeared but there was qrt spots still there from almost an hour old. I refreshed a couple times and the spot never came back, but I had multiple that were over 30 minutes old. Any way I can get rid of the older ones and keep the newer ones?
@AA8TT We pull in spot data from multiple sources. They are up there for 30 mins and then if they are not longer in the spotting source they are removed. We have plans to make this more user customizable in the future.
It’s not just from other sources, I will spot or log a contact on wrl and when the page refreshes the one that was just there from me logging the contact even leaves. Oh and that brings up another point, I entered a contact (on wrl) it never spotted them and then the only way I could get it to try again was to retype everything and spot them again then I had to delete the dupe
@AA8TT We dont auto spot callsigns when they are logged. If you manually spot a contact it will show up on the spotting tab for 30-45 mins (i think its 45 now not 30 but dont quote me on that). Unless there is just a large amount of spots (ie you have multiple bands selected) the spots will stay until the time is up. Now if you have 2 or 3 bands selected and there are a large number of spots they might get rotated through (which is most likely why you think they are disappearing) because there is only a certain number of spots that can be shown at a time (i think its like 50ish) due to real estate constraints
Ahhh that is probably it. I am hunting 13 colonies, America 250, wwff and pota right now so I have 6-160 so I am guessing that is my problem.
Also, i thought that if I had selected “spot them” selected and I make a contact it would automatically spot them when I logged the contact. If not what would be the best way to make sure that when i log a constact it spots them?
@AA8TT After you’ve enter the callsign in the logging fields before logging the contact just hit the ‘spot them’ button and enter the frequency (if your not using the cat control app, if you are the freq will/should already be there) and a comment if you want and click the arrow and it will spot them.
Or you can just click the ‘spot them’ button and enter the callsign, freq and comment even if there isn’t a callsign loaded into the logging fields
