The trans canda trail ca-5082

this park spans across country. I am in ontario, it passes right through local park here. But when i logg this park it shows me in alberta. This Trail system spans 28000 km coast to coast.,

this is messing with the data on the leader boards showing a location I am not and confusing others. When i change locaiton details in the log itself, the pota park overrides that.

I see two issues:

  • also a “normal” park can have more than one locator when the park area is at the border between two locators.
  • a trail park has many different locators.

So this is a general problem that VE3YHW is addressing here, and not only a trail park issue. @WRL-Team

@VE3YHW We pull the park data directly from POTA instead of using our own data or populating it ourselves. You can update your location in your logbook settings either by lat/lon, gridsquare, and/or state via the ‘custom location’ option or you can create a saved location and assign that saved location to your logbook the same way you would setting a ‘custom location’. I hope this helps.

Ok, so I tried to update the location data but it didn’t change where the map and leaderboard is showing

@VE3YHW Interesting. ok I’ll reach out to the team and have them take a look as it should be updating once you update your location info. First i’ve heard of this one.

@VE3YHW Good morning,

I went to check out your account to see what was going on. I’m assuming your referring to the logbook ‘TRNS CAN TRL @ CA-5082’ correct? And the correct gridsquare is GN36mu ?

I’m not seeing any QSO’s in that log so its not going to show anything on the map or leaderboard. I did add a test qso with myself and it maps correctly according to the gridsquare.

Let me know if you have anymore issues.
