I am a local ham club president, watching our club slowly dwindle away . IF I had a magic wand I would create a WRL just for my club, it seems potentially perfect . I have found that not all members like engaging in WRL-like activity where there are lots and lots of hams they don’t know . I wonder if there would ever be a WRL capability where club members could log on and elect to see “all “ of WRL’s usual features , or just WRL features reflecting their club members activity ? A leaderboard for the club, contest scores between club members, spotting only by club members , etc . Just a thought .
Could baby step it by adding a list of clubs and a user could select what clubs he is in. Or you could have an actual member of each club validate a user and add the club designation to them, to make it more accurate.
Then, could have an option to turn on the club mode and user could select the club and it would show him a list of that club’s users, etc.
I’d love to be able to flip on club mode and find out all the CVRC, GSARA or SKCC members that are already using WRL. The more I think about it, the better the idea sounds. And, it would help a lot with some of the isolation within clubs that undoubtedly contributes to waning membership levels.
I wish there was more Club capabilities with WRL I made this request recently after Field Day Club Account Support with Role-Based Operator Access and another request on a Club Directory within WRL to find your local Clubs.
