Antenna Question

Hello, I have a G5RV Senior 160-10 Meters antenna says it is a 204 ft. any one use this type? how easy or hard are they to set up?

I had a standard G5RV 80-10m and it worked very well until it was wiped out by a falling tree. Installation difficulty depends on your site and ability to get the center point high enough. The Senior model has a 63’ ladder line, and you have to get it high enough to keep the ladder line from collecting on the ground. That height, plus running out two end points, each on 102’ of line, would be a huge hassle for me on my site, but maybe for you and others it is a simpler task.

Thank you and I have plenty of room on my location I can use just haven’t used that style antenna before

@SAINTWULF Hey David,

The trick is to just get it up as high in the air as you possibly can. I think it’ll work well for you though!

It all depends on your local conditions and what contacts you want to chase…
Personally I would never invest time with a G5RV antenna.

@CT7AHV Hey Pedro

Your absolutely correct, it depends on your local conditions but its still a decent choice for someone first getting into the hobby I think.
