I’m looking to replace my current logging program. I do many longer qso’s and take lots of notes during them. I was wondering if it would be possible to have a bigger note taking box instead of just one a one line box. —— I like to look back at my notes and correct them if necessary. This applies to both my Ipad app and my windows laptop.
Also would it be possible on the windows laptop to have th e name of the person be populated after entering their callsign. I’ve been entering the name portion manually.
Thanks for reaching out! Yes i can talk to the team and have then make the “notes” field on the webapp a multiline with the ability for the user to increase the size of that field. That shouldn’t be an issue.
As for the name, it should be populating the name of the persons callsign. Regardless of if you are using the “Default WRL” logging template or the “All fields” template it’ll show the user’s name (see screenshots). In your case it might make more sense to use the “All Fields” template vs anything else. Also, goto the integrations page and enter your QRZ login info (if you have a qrz subscription and this will give you a little more accurate data (until we finish building out our own internal callsign database).
now with both logbook templates its going to save the users name in the full qso contact details but with the default wrl template it wont show on the logger. You can switch between the two by clicking the button right above the frequency label where the frequency input box is (see screenshot with arrow).
Additionally make sure you are setting your home location and radio, antenna, etc settings in your logbook settings (click the gear icon in the top right when your inside your logbook). You can also set these for all new logbooks you create by going to the “log contacts” page and clicking that gear icon and setting everything the way you want it.

Excellent. Thank you for the fast response.----- Yes I was logged into my QRZ but for some reason those names were not populating on my WRL log. ---- I simply logged out of QRZ and then logged in again.---- Problem solved. 73.
