My name is Jonathan and this past Wednesday I passed my Technician exam. I’m really excited to get on the air but as you all know the FCC was shut down due to the government shutdown. They have since reopened, but im noticing that ULS still is not functioning even a few days later. Does anyone know how long I can expect to wait for the FCC to issue my license?
I look forward to speaking to you all live on the air!
Congratulations on your passing the Technician Class License! When the Gov is running new licenses are issued in about 7-14 days. What it is now I don’t think anyone knows. But you can check the ULS every now and then and see if it’s listed yet. Just remember, while you have passed the exam, you are not approved to “go on the air” until the FCC has recorded your passing as shown on the ULS and have given you a call sign.
Thanks for feed back and also for the work you are doing with Ham Radio Prep. It was thanks to that very program that I was able to pass the Technician test. I’m currently studying for my General and am watching your instructional videos! Who knows…maybe Ill have my General by the time I get issued my Technician!
I did my test in September. Never heard from the fcc. Today I called and talked to them. They processed my paperwork took my 35 dollars.. Will get call sign within a couple of days….
Actually mine took about 9 days as well. I passed my exam a few hours before the government reopened I believe. On the 12. Looks like that’s the processing time at the moment. Felt like a while but I expected it to be much longer than that.
