My cousin passed his technician test today December 4 and he is wondering how long it should take I got mine within a few days, but that was before the government shut down but anyway thanks! De KR4CWB

@KR4CWB There is a slight backup of license submissions. There is no way to know for sure. But after he gets the email to pay the FCC, he should pay right away then it will drop into the que. I would guestimate that will be about a week to two weeks.

I tested and passed on 11/08. Set up my FRN as soon as the site was back up and able to do that, right after the shut down ended. Forwarded my new FRN to the VE testers so they should have submitted the 601 soon after as well. Still waiting for an e-mail asking for the 35 dollar fee. Also, logging in to FCC to see if there is any request to pay. SO far, zip, null, nada, and still waiting. Read a recent article stating that they are still catching up on the back log. Stated something about trying to process about 75 a day with a back log of over 2500. So it may be a while.
OK, thanks for the information. We just paid the fee and now waiting on the call sign!
