Feature Request: For contests only the clear button clears all logging fields

Hello WRL Team

Especially in a contest situation, it can happen that after filling in all the required logging fields, you realize that the callsign is incorrect. The quickest way is then to delete the callsign field and completely rewrite the callsign. And the quickest way is the way you do it in a contest.

But now I have read the following (and have also tested it in the meantime):

If cleaning up the callsign means that all the information already entered is lost, that would be a disaster.

So my feature request is:
The functionality whereby deleting the callsign field deletes all logbook fields can be enabled/disabled in the personal settings.

Otherwise, WRL cannot be used seriously for contests.

@HB9EVT It just removes the call sign data (ie name, country, city, grid and notes) it doesn’t remove the freq, band, mode, rst sent/rcvd, power or time.

Hi Brad @K4AZE

I disagree with you: there are other fields that are affected:

  • Frequency (and band) (if they are not CAT controlled)
  • Name (blue field in a qso party log)
  • State/Province (blue field in a qso party log)

This is not a complete list. This is just the result of a test with a qso party log I just had available.

So please check if there are other fields that will be accidentally deleted.

@K4AZE I tested and the clear field works as Brad described on the web app, Windows 11 and Edge. Fx, Band, RST Sent/Receive still there.
