Fetch data from QRZ

Would it be possible to link with QRZ or other databases so when you type a callsign into the log it will populate the name, country and location automatically?

I would be interested in using this for Net Control and having automatic access to the operator’s name and location is a must.

Hi Simon

This is already on the roadmap and we will also have our own database. Soon to be available

Will I require a paid membership to access this feature when it becomes available?

It will be free, but if you want to use the qrz.com data it will require a paid membership on the QRZ side.

Thanks again Alfredo.

Is it possible to make one off donations to WRL rather than a paid subscription?

Hi Simon, so thank you so much for checking us out!! I’m going to add a few notes here.

1. The CallSign lookup is already working, it will get their name and location when logging using HamDB.

We are currently improving this feature by building our own database that will be live in less than 2 weeks for increased performance and offline mode support with our new mobile app.

We will also introduce a call sign search at the top of the page.

  1. We will additionally be adding an integration with QRZ.com to make import and export more streamlined and automatic.

  2. If you would like to donate, please send me a direct message or chat, any and all donations are very much appreciated! We are still very new and every dollar helps!

It appears that HamDB is now useless for Australia. The ACMA transitioned all Amateur callsigns to a new NON-DATABASE that only shows callsign and class of licence.

Looks like I will have to get a QRZ subscription to enable the service :frowning:

I understand that the WRL callsign database has become a prioritized feature, so this problem should be resolved soon.

That will be perfect.
