Full WWFF integration with references for starting an activation

Hello, I see that POTA as well as WWFF references can be listed and shown on the map. However, when I want to start a WWFF activation by clicking “Start POTA activition”, only POTA references are listed. The WWFF references are lacking … Are you planning to implement these ? (I hope so !!). In Europe, WWFF is bigger than the copy-cat POTA program.

@PF5X Hey Enno

Actually they already are. We will be adding a quick link to ‘Start a WWFF activation’ just like we have for POTA. What you can do is goto ‘logbooks’ and then ‘Create a new logbook’, from there select the ‘WWFF’ activity and then either click the ‘Find my WWFF’ or enter the reference number, then set your location for your logbook and click ‘save’. That should be all you need to do.

Let me know if you have any issues.

@K4AZE Hello Brad,

Reading this post a question comes to me, can we put a POTA reference and another reference (WWFF, SOTA, …) on the same logbook?

Thanks for your reply.

@F4MPL For hunting i’ve created a template called ‘WRL POTA/SOTA/WWFF/IOTA Hunter Template’ that can be used to do this. The template has each of the fields for POTA/SOTA/WWFF/IOTA and you can add the reference for which ever one you are working.

For activating I’m not sure exactly how that would work since the needed exported ADIF is different for POTA or SOTA or WWFF. I would suggest creating two logbooks (one for each activity) that way you can export the needed ADIF independently of the other.

I hope this helps somewhat.

Oh yes, indeed, I hadn’t thought of ADIF. I haven’t had that happen yet, but I’ll keep that in mind for next time.

Thanks for the answers, 73.

Hi Brad @K4AZE

Several SOTA summits are located in a POTA park or WWFF area. And few are also on an IOTA island. So also a solution for the activators is needed.

I outline the following approach to a solution:

  • You can open a logbook and declare the activation of 2 or more OTA programs.
  • During logging you have all needed park-2-park, summit-2-summit, island-2-island fields depending on the selected OTA programs.
  • And on the export page all OTA adif variants are provided depending on the selected OTA programs.

In this context:

When referring to my conversation partner’s park number, a hunter simply calls it “Park Number,” while the activator refers to it as “P2P.” But in both cases, it’s the same thing: it’s “Their Park.” :wink:

I would therefore not make any distinction and always assign it to the same field: “Their Park.”

In SOTA, where activators and hunters have to upload their logs, the conversation partner’s summit number is for both (activators and hunters) the identical field in the ADIF file.
