I’m very new to WRL (and the hobby in general) so my apologies if I’m missing something obvious. Tried searching but couldn’t quite find it.
I did some logging today while POTA hunting and noticed stations I had already worked were highlighted green in the spotting window. This was very useful as it helped me to avoid contacting someone twice.
But what happens when I want to contact the same station for a different activation (e.g., they activate another park tomorrow)? Will they still be highlighted green tomorrow?
If so, is there any current way for me to highlight stations that I have worked today ONLY, or will I need to keep track of those manually?
The duplication detection for pota works off of UTC day as well as different parks. For example, it will only highlight and show the contact as a dupe if the logged contact is at the same park within the same UTC day. If the contact is activating multiple parks in the same UTC day (not a 2fer/3fer etc) it wont park them as a duplicate or highlight them once they are spotted at the 2nd park.
I hope this helps and welcome to WRL and the hobby! Hope to hear you on the air!
@K4AZE Just to clarify, as a POTA hunter I have a lot of the same contacts just before and then again just after the new UTC day, and when I first enter the call sign in the new day it will still flag it as a DUPE as I’m entering the info, but then once I actually log it the DUPE designation will go away.
That threw me off the first couple of times but now I just ignore it.
