Hi I am having an Issue with expporting cabrillo formatted logs for contests, when I tried to do this after the last contest it refused to accept the log on the contest site.
Hi Norman @9Y4NE
Welcome to the WRL community chat.
Your message is a bit too general. Detailed information are missing: Which contest? What error message did you receive when uploading to the contest website?
Two days ago I had also an issue with a cabrillo formatted contest log as well (In my case it was the log of the IARU HF World Championship). I made a bug report and in less than 24 hours the bug was fixed and I was invited to try again. And I could successfully submit my log on the contest page.
Best practice is to use the bug report form in the WRL logging suite:
https://app.worldradioleague.com/report-bug
(If you are using the Android or iPhone App, you find also there the bug report form.)
Describe the problem with all details you have:
- Which contest?
- What is the name of your logbook?
- What error message did you receive when you tried to upload?
- What do you notice when you open the Cabrillo log file with a text editor?
(e.g., are the contest exchange reports correct in the log file ?) - What other observations have you made?
You’ll see, the WRL team will be able to fix your problem too.

name of contest was IARU HF World Championship , when attempting to upload on the contest site I received this error
> # This page isn’t working
*> *
> contest-log-submission.arrl.org is currently unable to handle this request.
*> *
> HTTP ERROR 500
opened the file at the time and all seemed ok with the export, what I ended up doing was exporting a adif and using a converter to get a proper cabrillo upload.
@9Y4NE Hey Norman,
The error your reporting sounds more like a server side error on the ARRL side. I would still make sure to go into your WRL IARU contest logbook and make sure you’ve set the ‘my exchange’ setting underneath the logging fields and then go to your logbook settings via the gear icon in the top right of the logging window and make sure you’ve set everything in the dropdowns and input fields, especially the ‘Contest Settings’ at the bottom and then click the save button. Then re-export your Cabrillo file and try to upload it to the ARRL site again.
Let me know if you have any issues.
Thanks & 73
