How long does a LoTW download usually take. I thought I would try it last night . I got the message that the download had started and that I should sit back and relax. Well, not only did I sit back, I went to sleep for 8 hours . This morning it is still downloading on my high speed Internet connection. 14,000 QSL too much for WRL ?
Currently we only have the import from LOTW implemented. We will be adding the export side of it once we get through resolving the fixes from the database upgrade.
When you have that many QSO’s due to the way the old LOTW API is we have to import them in batches as well as check for duplicates which causes it to take longer than it should. Unfortunately there isn’t a whole we can do there since its on the LOTW side, its a VERY VERY old system.
As far as it only pulling in 47, im assuming thats due to you already having those QSO’s in one of your WRL logbooks. Since we dont import duplicate QSO’s (as it throws off the analytics) it wont import any QSO that is already in there. I just checked your account and i’m not seeing a log notification for a LOTW import. I do see an import from a ADIF (“1760352834963_wsjtx_log copy.adi”) which tried to import 5630 QSO’s and only imported 1202 due to 4428 duplicates.
Thanks. I am not sure why I got so few . The WRL logbook I was importing in to from LoTW is a logbook that I originally created in WRL from a ADIF that contains all the stations I had previously uploaded to LoTW from DXKeeper.
After looking into your account it looks like you have one logbook with 16,145 QSO’s, another with 1,202 and one with 117 so a total of 17,464 QSO’s. Like I mentioned previously since we dont import duplicate’s (from ADIF’s, QRZ, or LOTW) I would most likely assume thats why they aren’t coming back in because they are already in one of those 3 main logbooks.
Do you think you have more than 17,464 QSO’s total?
I think I need to ponder this a bit more. So , when WRL says download new QSLs from LoTW , the connection looks for new confirmations and downloads them. So If I work someone new today and send (via other means ) to LoTW and that QSO gets confirmed , the next time I use WRL to grab stuff from LoTW… I get the new confirmation downloaded into my WRL log book , right?
Now, I wonder about WRL’s Analytics . It says that my largest log has 16 confirmed DXCC entities. However, since I have WAS confirmed via LoTW and confirmed about 180 DXCC , shouldn’t this show in WRL if my WRL logbook contains all my LoTW QSOs ?
