OMNIRIG-Port sharing

Hey guys, when connecting the WRL CAT Control app, it only sees the radio ports. It would be nice if I could select Omnirig, or if it recognised virtual ports, as I have multiple software connected to the radio at any given time. :slightly_smiling_face:

@9Y4C We do not currently support virtual ports. This may be something we add in the future though. You can however use something like VPSE and setup a virtual port and it show up in the WRL cat control app. Its just not something we support at this time.

I currently use VSPE, but the ports do not show up in the WRL client for me; I only see the original radio ports

@9Y4C Try setting up, with WRL cat control closed. then once its setup open the cat control app, then click the refresh button above the com port drop down

Already tried that, even restarted the PC just in case

@9Y4C I’m not sure then. its got to be something with your setup. With only using VPSE i can create a ‘Virtual Splitter’ connection using the following settings (see screenshots) and it shows up in the WRL Cat Control app and works with both my 991a and my dx10.

One thing to note is that you’ll need to go into the device manager and right click on both your com ports for your radio and click properties then go into the ‘Port Settings’ tab and make sure you’ve got the baud rate set to the same thing you have set in your radio settings. Also go into the Power Management tab and uncheck/disable the two options there as well. Then when setting up the ‘Virtual Splitter’ in VPSE make sure you click on the settings button and set it up the same what it shows in the the ‘Port Settings’ tab of device manager. As well as select all the highlighted areas in the first screenshot.

Thanks for the Help, but that doesn’t work for me. I even deleted my virtual ports and started from scratch following your instructions, same result, No Joy! I give up for now will try another time.

@9Y4C very very odd. Do you have the latest usb/radio driver for the 991a installed from the yaesu site?

Also I know it sounds trivial but try unplugging and replugging the radio for your computer.

Yes, Drivers are up to date, and also unplugged the radio from the PC. The strange thing is, it shows up in all the other software I use.

@K4AZE I uninstalled the VVSPE and updated to the latest version, seeing my Virtual ports now seem I was running an outdated ver.

Again thanks for all the help Brad!
