Qso templates

I don’t see a template that could be applied to state QSO parties, where all I need is a send and receive number and county or state for entries (along with call sign, frequency, etc.) Am I missing something? Or is this a “paid” membership only feature?

@KM4GWQ Hey David,

You need to enroll in the contest you want to participate in from the contests page
( World Radio League ). Once you enroll in the contest(s) it will automatically create the contest logbook with the correct contest exchange fields for that contest and then once you’re ready you can export the log as a Cabrillo log.

For the QSO parties, there will be the exchange field for the XX County | State | Province | DX and will have the correct county abbreviations for whatever QSO party you are participating in as well as the other state abbreviations.

One thing to note is that you need to add your exchange to the ‘My Exchange’ field underneath the ‘log contact’ button inside the logbook before exporting the Cabrillo.

I hope this helps.

Hey Brad, quick follow up question on the Georgia QSO part form. How would I go about doing a rove of multiple locations? I am driving to multiple different counties. Myself is the location area enough to change to make sure I get counted for everywhere I activate?

@K4AFD Hey Ryan,

So for this, this will be a little tricky and tedious because we haven’t been able to release this functionality properly yet (we have SOOOOOO Many contest changes coming soon we are just testing at the moment).

The best thing to do in this case is set your exchange in the “My Exchange” field under the log contact button, make the contacts at the first location, then before going to the next export the logbook to a cabrillo and just name it K4AFD-1. Then after you’ve downloaded the cabrillo file, update your exchange to the next location, make your contacts then export as a cabrillo again naming it K4AFD-2, so on and so forth. Then if you’ll just send all the logs to me (unless your comfortable editing them yourself) & i’ll combine them so they will show correctly and you’ll get the correct credit.

The reason for this is that when you enter the my exchange information it currently isn’t getting added to the QSO data and only being used when exporting the cabrillo log. If that data was getting added to the QSO record data then you could just change that ‘my exchange’ info each time you went to the next location.

This is one of the changes we are finishing working on currently. Hopefully it will be released in the next couple weeks so this wont be such a hassle going forward.

@K4AFD So other option would be to just note down which county you went to first, then second, then third, etc. As well as note which callsign you logged last at each location.

(ie: location1 = last contact k4aze, location 2 = last contact n0wrl, etc). then when your ready to export your logbook just shoot me a message, give me that info and i’ll go in and export your logbook for you and update the contacts with the correct county abbreviation for you so you dont have to worry about it.

Happy to do it since we dont currently have the functionality you need for the rove.
