When attempting to re-check confirmations, I see two options: “Re-check the last 50” or All Contacts (Unless I am selecting incorrectly).
I currently have around 9,000 contacts. Running a full check on all 9,000 feels wasteful when I only need to update a smaller number, but the “last 50” option is too small.
Is it possible to Add predefined options between 50 and All (e.g., Last 200, 500, etc).
Or add a Time-Based Filtering: Add an option to re-check contacts from “This Calendar Year” or “Last X Months”.
@KE8RRG We could possibly do that. I’ll talk to the team. One thing you can do is just use the QSO manage to select the qso’s you want to recheck for and then click the ‘re-check confirmations’ button, for now.
James, clarify this for me. Confirmations are going to check QRZ and LoTW every time a new contact is added, or just WRL every time a contact is added?
Good question @W7YBY , I was just talking with @K4AZE about the same thing.
Every time a new contact is added to WRL, it checks everywhere for confirmations (WRL, QRZ, LoTW).
BUT, it is still a good idea to recheck for QRZ/LoTW confirmations every once in a while, because if a new contact gets confirmed later in QRZ/LoTW, WRL might not know about it.
Since WRL is sending a new contact to QRZ within moments/minutes (what’s the actual time lag?) of being logged on WRL, then the purpose of the confirmation check is to see if that other operator has ALREADY logged the same contact before I did, correct?
If so, and then if the other operator is a paper logger and doesn’t add to QRZ until perhaps the following day or even at the end of the month, this is why we need to do the recheck, correct?
Sorry to be so dense. I just want to make sure I understand this.
When the contact comes into WRL, we check if the matching contact already exists. If it is coming in from QRZ/LoTW, we also check if it is confirmed there.
But, if it goes to QRZ, and then gets confirmed in QRZ after logging, it requires a confirmation recheck!
