I am using WRL integrated with my QRZ account for automatic logging uploads. My primary callsign is N0LAF.
I was recently granted a special event callsign, N4M, for a Mills on the Air event this weekend. I have already:
Created the N4M page and logbook on QRZ
Integrated N4M with LoTW
Created a separate logbook in WRL specifically for the event
My question is how to ensure that QSOs logged within the N4M WRL logbook upload correctly to the N4M QRZ and LoTW logs, rather than being associated with my primary callsign, N0LAF.
Is there a specific setting within WRL that controls the station callsign or upload callsign on a per-logbook basis?
I would also appreciate confirmation regarding which ADIF field WRL uses during QRZ and LoTW uploads for special event stations.
Thank you for your help and for the continued development of WRL.
Unfortunately we don’t have a setting for this currently and the QRZ export will only work with a QRZ subscription (per QRZ’s requirements to use their API). If you had a QRZ subscription for the special event callsign you would need to get the API key from your QRZ logbook (for the special event callsign) and then set that in the QRZ export integration settings inside WRL before you started making QSO’s with the new callsign.
We currently don’t have support for sending QSO’s to QRZ for more than one callsign at a time. So whatever QRZ API key you have set in your WRL account is where the QSO’s you log in WRL will go to on the QRZ side.
The best thing to do in this situation is just to create a new logbook (like you’ve done) for the new callsign and make sure you have the callsign set to N4M in the quick settings bar in your logbook (see below) and log your contacts and then just export the logbook to an ADIF and then import into your QRZ account.
