I logged on paper yesterday. I’m working to enter the QSOs into a WRL logbook.
How do I enter a manual datetime and have it stick across multiple QSO entries? Of course I probably need to update the minute field with each QSO, but the date and hour should be able to stick.
For every QSO, I have to change the hour, the minute, and the date to yesterday because it keeps resetting to the current datetime. Whew I maybe I should just stop logging at all and simply talk to people.
Andy N0APX was on the Ham Radio Workbench podcast a while back and this exact topic came up. Andy promised Thomas (K4SWL) that this “sticky datetime” for logging after the fact would work. That statement is one of the reasons I’m trying to stick with WRL.
It took me a while to find the WRL documentation pages, but I found this helpfile that says this is possible, but I can’t figure it out. Help please!

The helpfile addresses this functionality under the “Advanced Entry Options” section. it says there’s a secondary field “Manual Time/Date: Log a QSO from a past day” but I can not find this secondary field. I’ve tried the WRL Default and All Fields template and did not see the “Manual Time/Date” secondary field. I tried to make a new custom template but did not see a “Manual Time/Date” secondary field to add to my custom template.
Apologize if this is a dup, I am getting deja vu here. Honestly, between bug reports, messages, posts, chats, and emails with WRL, I get pretty lost about what we’ve discussed where. I really try to not submit dups but I just can’t see everything (eg bug reports.)
Thanks and 73,
Tony.
