Hi everyone — quick question for those of you with vanity call signs.
I recently applied for one, but my application was dismissed. There were no other applications for the call sign I requested, so I’m thinking there may have been an issue with how I submitted it. Unfortunately, I can’t see what the problem was.
Has anyone run into this before, or know what might cause an application to be dismissed?
I can’t give you a helpful answer as to why, but comments that I’ve seen elsewhere have indicated that FCC staffers tend to be good at helping users when they call in.
I can absolutely confirm this. I called on a Monday morning a few weeks ago expecting a long wait time and was speaking with someone within 2 minutes. And he was patient enough to get to the root of a complicated technical issue and resolve it. I was very happy!
