Hi mark, first try, how to get started over,

Hey N0WRL, what band do you hang out on? I’d like to chat with you on HF sometime. Just got my General ticket with Hamradioprep and have a Yaesu FT-891. Getting that N0WRL call sign in my log would be HUGE. KF0TQJ

What is a good antenna to use when living in a HOA subdivision

Hello. Studying for my tech license and starting to learn about some of the clubs and repeaters in my area. Excited to finally take this step to pursue an interest of mine for many years.

Hi,
I am having problems with the 20 and 17 Meter bands of an MFJ -1848 Hexbeam .
I have replaced the wires with insulated wire according to Leo’s data .
The SWR is resonant at 13.27 and 17 .01 MHz respectively.
I have changed the wire lengths but nothing changed .
The other bands are good .
I have also changed the unun and the coax without and change .
Can you kindly suggest what else I can do ?
Many thanks and regards .

@KG5MCN

What radio are you using and what bands are you wanting to operate on?

What restrictions are you under and your desired operating conditions? POTA Hunting/Local NVIS ECOM/DX pursuit/General Radio communications/etc..

Can you have a flagpole or do you have trees that can be used to suspend wires from?

Your style and restrictions can greatly influence the type of antenna(s) to use.

You can reach out to me and I will try to help you in your quest for an appropriate antenna.

Our club tech talk the month will be on stealth/HOA antennas.
