I have the TIA mini with the original 213" whip. I just ordered a new whip yesterday because the crimping is supposed to be better (my current one has a few sections that too-easily collapse forcing me to use gaffing tape which is a pain some times when I want a quick adjustment). I also bought the Sporty 40 coil and use that almost exclusively over the mini. I love it; it is my primary antenna.
A bit of advice. It comes with 3 30’ radials. I found better results using bundles of about 5m radials. They are 4 to a bundle with 4 bundles. I made more, but don’t see much of a difference if any when I go beyond the 4. I followed this guy’s advice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTNojRg8x40 but now really use Faraday cloth or aluminum window screen. There are several videos on that by both Ham Radio Crash Course and KB9VBR Michael.

Thanks for the reply and great information ~ gonna take some time figuring out what antenna will work best for me once I get my POTA rig put together. Just finished with SEAPAC and learned quite a bit and got a lot of useful information. Really looking forward to getting into Radio.

I use a WRC in several configurations. If I had to pick one, it would be the mega base with the 213" whip and a sporty 40 coil. I use either faraday cloth or 6 17ft radials. I love it for a freestanding solution as many parks around me are nothing allowed in trees or staked in the ground. Do yourself a favor and mark the height of resonance for each band with a marker, that makes band changes a breeze.
