WRL Cat Control, the ICOM IC-7610, and integration into WRL itself

Hi folks,

I am on Cat Control 1.04 beta with my ICOM IC-7610. The Cat Control app is working, but it does not display the 2nd VFO (I don’t care). When going into WRL for this weekend’s CQ WW SSB contest (yes I have a contest log setup), I cannot get the band and frequency to populate from the Cat Control app. I see the frequencies change (in WRL Cat Control) as I manually switch bands/frequencies, but no joy on reflecting/populating that data in the WRL logger.

There was a video that said something to the effect of “read from radio” but that escapes me and I DO NOT see that option ANYWHERE in the WRL logbook.

I am trying to get this to work, my go-to logger is N1MM+. I am getting frustrated and may just revert back to the tried-and-true N1MM+ integration and logging. This shouldn’t be that difficult.

I tried this a few months ago with beta 1.0.0 of WRL Cat Control and gave up then too. What am I missing?

@K6WDE We will be pushing some updates the cat control app over the next day or so. We have several fixes in place for n1mm, wstjx listening as well as the cat control app itself.

Thanks & 73

I’m experiencing the same problem with my 7610. I hope they can resolve it before this weekend would be great to use to log contacts for the contest.

Don’t think so, got my tried-n-true N1MM+ updated and ready to go. I too was looking forward to see the leaderboard stuff with WRL.

I get the feeling that WRL is more like PoLo and HAMRS, for the mobile WWFF/POTA logging crowd. For that, it is pretty cool.

@K6WDE Once we get through the last of the kinks from the database upgrade we will be pushing more of a focus towards contesting as well especially with the partnership with WRTC. Bare with us over the next couple of months and new features and upgrades will continue to be rolled out.

Thanks, I wish I could participate in your CQWW SSB contest trial (per your global email message), but I need CAT to really work flawlessly in the heat of the contest! Next time ….
