Club Log for Field Day

Hi friends, what is the best way to have multiple operators (4) logging for field day as a club entity? This is 4 separate radio stations on site but all logging as our club call sign. Does everybody just log into the club account at the same time? Can you have multiple people logging into the same log file simultaneously? Or does each operator log separately on a WRL instance and then merge the logs? Any help/tutorials appreciated! 73 :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

That’s good to know. Thanks for sharing this. Did anyone mention if this is the “correct”/approved way to do this though?? A WRL Wiki would be wonderful :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

@VE5REV Hey Jason Good Morning,

Yes the easiest way to do this is for each operator to login to the club account separately and then you’ll each need to go into the logbook and click the club call sign right above the logging fields and then change the callsign type to club and enter your operator callsign underneath. I’ve attached screenshots to help. Let me know if you have any questions! You may not see this exact thing currently on production (the live site) but it will be there in the next day or so. We are finalizing some changes :wink: Let me know if you have any problems or questions. Happy to help!

When you add CAT control into the mix, This doesn’t work. The web app doesn’t support multiple logins with same user (club call in this case) with the cat control. The frequency entry fights among the different cat controls logged in under Club Account. Any ideas on how to setup for multi operator with CAT control and logging into one log for WFD?

@K8WSL That would make sense and be correct. Since the cat control app is tied to a specific user and the frequency updates in the logbook based on the frequency of the radio connected. Introducing multiple operators and cat control connections that are all connected to the same account wouldn’t work effectively. With the way the current cat control app is setup I don’t see this being able to work for this use case as it was not designed to work that way initially.

With that all said, I’m happy to talk to the team and we can brainstorm on if this would even be possible and how to handle it but I highly doubt it would be ready before WFD.
