Problem uploading .adif to LOTW

I used WRL for logging the Atlantic Canada QSO party. When attempting to upload the .adif to LOTW there is a mismatch somewhere with the grid location. My grid, EM93qc is properly documented everywhere else and when I created the Cabrillo file it showed my proper grid location also. I’m attaching the response I got from the LOTW server. It is somehow reading that I’m in EM93rd but my logs reads I’m in my proper grid of EM93qc. Where is WRL logging pulling the EM93rd? I’ve looked everywhere I can think of and my proper grid is documented. Thanks, Alan W4ANT

FROM the .adif file you can see that the correct grid of EM93qc is being logged -

@W4ANT Hey Alan,

Looking at your logbook, and the Cabrillo you exported. It doesn’t have your exchange information in it. I just re-exported it and its now showing correctly. I’ve attached it below. You’ll need to use the one i’ve attached to submit tot he contest.

I then just went to the main logbooks page and exported your contest logbook as an ADIF and checked the data, its showing the correct grid for ‘MY_GRIDSQUARE’. Even the export you exported is showing correctly and i’m not finding EM93rd anywhere in either the cabrillo or the adif. Everything looks correct, even your saved location in your WRL account

Here is a screen recording:

Here is the adif i exported: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zFYBJix4lHvYzt79ykcWdpB9lcfkxiJF/view?usp=sharing

I would download ADIF master if your on windows, its free and a HUGE help looking at ADIF’s

Thanks Brad, I just tried to upload the new .adif and still getting the same return message. I’m at a loss where this EM93rd is coming from ???

Incidentally, when I first created the Cabrillo file to send to the contest sponsor, it was missing my state in each line of the Cabrillo file. I only had 22 Q’s so I manually entered SC in each line where it was expected. I was then able to submit the log for scoring.

This very well may be a LOTW issue and nothing to with the files created by WRL.

Thanks for your time, 73, Alan W4ANT

@W4ANT Im not normally one to immediately point the blank elsewhere but after looking at the ADIF’s myself thats kind of the way im leaning atm. I’m guilty of this myself, but your 100% sure you’re trying to use teqsl on the latest adif you just exported (or the one from yesterday)? Because i’m not even finding EM93rd anywhere in the adif at all.

Wait wait…looking at your screenshot again, i think its saying that your LOTW account has the gridsquare EM93rd set but the QSO record on line 9 is showing EM93qc.

Yeah because it says The Station Location Gridsquare has a value of EM93rd while the QSO on line 9 has EM93QC

Good catch! I’ve been uploading directly from N3FJP for years without a problem but in this particular instance I had to upload from tqsl. I just edited my station location in .tqsl and was able to upload the adif immediately.

Now, I have no idea how EM93rd landed on the .tqsl but it’s correct now.

Always good to have someone else look things over because I totally missed it and didn’t suspect it because I’ve been uploading to LOTW routinely for years!

Thanks again, we’re set! Thank you for your attention to detail.
