@AF1V Hi Gary, glad you could join us. I started on HF last September by hunting POTA stations and yesterday I hit my 1000th POTA contact, all on WRL. Be careful, as POTA can be quite addicting.
@W7YBY Thanks Brian! But the POTA addiction warning is too late. I’ve already got the bug and plan to hunt at least 5 activations a day as well as activate at least every 2 weeks.
Ha ha ha… yep, you’re done for at this point. ![]()
Great tool. It is unfortunate, however, that it is heavily focused on the USA. Europe is somewhat overlooked. This applies, for example, to band plans and contests. vy 73 de Daniel HB9HGH
Thanks everyone for being patient with me. I am just a little slow at times. It just takes a little bit for me to get started.
@HB9HGH Daniel, I know this has been brought up in the past and I’m not speaking for WRL but I’m pretty confident that they are looking at becoming more world-centric in the future.

Hello all,
Dirk here. Great to see the hobby still going strong and the bands alive.
After 30 years QRT — life, work, and other adventures — I’ve reapplied for my license. ON1DGN will be back on the air very soon. Looking forward to making contacts again, catching up with old friends, and logging plenty of QSOs.
Hope to hear you on the bands!

morning all, I’m currently studying for my ham radio technical license and at the same time I’m also a person that does DIY radio sets from kit manuals and schematics. so far, I have built an AM radio kit, an FM radio scanner kit, a Retro crystal Radio kit. other kit radios I have in my possession are a SW 1991 radio kit from Ramsey, a 1991 Airband receiver kit, an VHF antenna kit from Electronix express, two Am broadcast transmitter kits from Ramsey, a high power Fm mike kit from Ramsey, and last but not least a wireless acoustical transmitter model WAT-50. I also love to maintain and restore radios (when have the time). On the side I’m thinking of creating a Crystal Radio Club where I live in Boca Raton. (Good amount of space out here and not too many buildings, its a suburban area) and Crystal radios are still somewhat popular, even though they are the radios that started the radio era a century ago.
Hey all, wanted to drop in here and say “hello!” Im a new ham waiting on my license to be officially updated to General, then on to Extra. Mainly interested in SOTA, 2m revival, and getting involved with ARES and QRP CW. I’m more questions than answers and definitely feel like I’m drinking from a fire hydrant. Couldn’t be happier.
Welcome - there is a lot to learn. I’ve been licensed for 57 years and am still learning new stuff!
All I did was change my callsign and now I have to activate my account again
@NI3N Hey Richard,
You shouldn’t have to, looking up your account by this callsign (NI3N) its still the VIP account you’ve had with the same creation date of 10/16/2023 and all 4 logbooks are there. Are you still having trouble?
Thanks & 73
Brad K4AZE
everything seems to be working correctly again
Thanks
Happy to be here, thank you for this platform. Still new to the hobby but my interest grows every day. I am excited about getting into POTA, both hunting and activating. I enjoy the videos and have been very interested in playing with different antennas. I have a few ready for my first trek to a park. 73 K1TCN
Thanks!
Hey I just wanted to say that I’m new here and to Ham Radio. I just got my Technician license and I’m taking the General next week. My callsign is KE2ICN and I look forward to seeing you out there!
73!
